HIking Habit

When I arrived in Tucson in mid-December, I decided that I would go for a hike every other day. It was a great plan. And it has worked with the exception of this past week when for three days I was moving stuff from Wandrin Wagon to Old Yeller. Moving boxes of stuff uses a whole different set of muscles compared to hiking.

Every week there is a hike with the park's hiking group. Most of my other hikes are solo hikes. The hikes have ranged from four to six miles. I'm working up my stamina for future longer hikes. It's been a couple of years since my last hike up Wasson Peak.

The hiking habit is a good thing.

  1. Sounds wonderful. If you're using different muscles, that's even better.

Hey, wait a minute - I just saw the Truck and Trailer SOLD in your sidebar. Have to check that out, I must have missed your sale. If the truck and trailer are indeed sold, that was really quick.

Sorry about the interruption - anyway, I think your hiking pattern is really good. Katie and I walk but we don't hike. Yesterday I finally walked over 10,000 steps, and today was 10,884. That REALLY good for me. Lots of places to go and people to visit right now in Quartzsite. I'm glad you are making friends and finding good places to hike there at Old Yeller. :)

    1. It is time to post some updates on my life -- like the trailer is sold and the move is complete.

  2. Congratulations on selling the truck and trailer. I haven't made it up Wasson Peak yet. Maybe this year.

    1. Based on my current plans and visitors in town, it may be another month before I get to Wasson Peak.

  3. We'll see you in March for some of those good hikes. I thought you'd sell the rig pretty fast, but I guess it means no trip up to ID this summer. :-(

    1. Selling anything requires just one buyer. Fortunately, I found that one buyer who wanted my unusual New Horizons built for one.

I've made no plans for the summer -- not even tentative plans.

I'm looking forward to seeing you in March. Good time to go hiking. With the warmer weather of March, the rattlers will be emerging from their months long hibernation.

  4. Looks like a great place to hike. Great hiking goal! My husband and I hike & birdwatch in the San Diego/Riverside California area. We love it!

    1. In years past when on extended stays in San Diego, I managed to hike a few of the trails in the County.

    1. Best wishes to you Zainab and Domi on your wedding. If you get to the Tucson area, let me know. I'll buy coffee at Starbucks -- like our first meeting in Yuma many years ago.
